At Park Dental Care, we appreciate that you and your family have many general dentists’ offices to choose from in Carol Stream, Winfield, and our corner of Chicagoland and northeast Illinois. We are proud to be the dental ‘home’ for patients seeking a trustworthy and comprehensive dentist in their area.
Our practice is female-owned and operated, led by Drs. Evelyn Maggos, DDS, Georgia Vlachogiannis, DDS, and Britly Barton, DMD. They have surrounded themselves with an equally dedicated, talented, and skilled team of professional women. While there is no substitute for timeless, quality service, we also recognize the ever-evolving nature of dental science and technologies. So, ongoing training and investments in technologies help us better care for patients and maintain the high level of service they expect from our office.
To us, “general” dental care is all about having the services you and your family members need at every stage of life, as those needs may change. We provide care to very young patients who are just starting their oral health journeys and much more “seasoned” patients who may be grappling with new challenges to their oral and overall health for the first time in their golden years. We support continuity of care; pediatric patients do not graduate or age out of our practice. We have enjoyed caring for these patients as they start their own families. And, as their care needs evolve, many services are provided here to sustain or restore oral health – without the need to refer to a specialist. However, we maintain many good relationships with some of the area’s top specialists for implant placement and other capabilities.
Regular visits are essential, even for those who maintain good oral health habits, with a recommended frequency of at least twice a year or once every six months. Our dental experts take a peek inside your mouth during these dental check-ups. They use their expertise and advanced diagnostic technologies to identify early-stage or emerging problems. Often, these problems are “silent” or do not produce any symptoms. You may think your mouth is healthy because your teeth feel and look fine. Yet, there can still be problems lurking underneath the surface that require prompt intervention. If you notice symptoms like bleeding gums or tooth sensitivity to hot or cold foods, it may indicate underlying damage that requires restorative dental treatment.
Such a visit would only be complete with a professional cleaning by our hygienists. Carolynn and Stephanie have the unique experience and tools to remove what cannot be removed with your toothbrush or floss: stubborn plaque build-up or tartar. Even with consistently exceptional home care, no one can remove all the plaque constantly forming on the teeth. When this destructive bacterial film lingers and then hardens, it can threaten the health of the teeth and gums. Hardened tartar requires professional removal.
